Move to the cloud with zero business disruption.

DeepScience Tech's cloud migration practice manages the full lifecycle of enterprise cloud migrations — assessment, planning, execution, and post-migration optimisation. AWS and OCI migrations for healthcare, media, government, manufacturing, and pharma clients across India.

Migration Strategies (The 7 Rs)

The right strategy for every workload.

🚀

Rehost (Lift & Shift)

Move applications as-is to cloud VMs with minimal modification. Fastest path to cloud — suitable for legacy applications, quick migrations, and first-phase cloud adoption before optimisation.

🔧

Replatform

Make targeted improvements during migration — e.g., move from self-managed MySQL to RDS, or from on-premise file storage to S3. Cloud benefits without full re-architecture.

🏗️

Refactor / Re-architect

Redesign applications to be cloud-native — microservices, containers, serverless. Maximum cloud benefit but highest effort. Recommended for strategic applications with long-term investment.

🔄

Repurchase

Replace an on-premise application with a cloud SaaS equivalent — e.g., move from on-premise CRM to Salesforce, or on-premise HR to SuccessFactors. Eliminates infrastructure management.

🗄️

Retain

Keep certain workloads on-premise — typically due to regulatory requirements, latency sensitivity, or recent capital investment. Hybrid architecture connects on-premise with cloud.

🗑️

Retire

Decommission applications that are no longer needed — reducing licensing costs, maintenance burden, and security attack surface. Often 20–30% of applications are retirement candidates.

Migration Process

Structured migration. Zero surprises.

PHASE 01
Discovery & Assessment
Application inventory, dependency mapping, TCO analysis, migration readiness scoring, and cloud provider selection (AWS vs OCI vs hybrid). Tools: AWS Migration Hub, Application Discovery Service.
PHASE 02
Migration Planning
Wave planning (group apps by dependency and priority), migration runbook creation, rollback plan, network connectivity design (VPN / Direct Connect / FastConnect), and cutover window scheduling.
PHASE 03
Proof of Concept
Migrate 1–2 non-critical applications to validate architecture decisions, test performance, verify integrations, and calibrate the migration process before full-scale execution.
PHASE 04
Migration Execution
Wave-by-wave migration with daily status reports, parallel-run testing, performance validation, integration testing, and UAT sign-off before each wave cutover.
PHASE 05
Cutover
Production cutover during agreed maintenance window — DNS switch, final data sync, application validation, and go/no-go decision checklist. Rollback executed within 30 minutes if needed.
PHASE 06
Post-migration Optimisation
30-day hypercare period, performance tuning, cost optimisation (rightsizing, reserved instances), security hardening, and transition to ongoing managed services.
What We Migrate

Every workload type — safely migrated.

Application Workloads

  • Web applications (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, Node.js)
  • ERP systems (SAP, ERPNext/Frappe, Oracle EBS)
  • HIMS / healthcare applications (HIMS, EMR, LIMS)
  • News and media platforms (WordPress, custom CMS, Veegam CMS)
  • Custom enterprise applications (.NET, Java, Python)
  • API gateways and microservices

Data & Database Workloads

  • MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB → RDS / Aurora
  • Oracle Database → RDS Oracle / OCI DBCS / Autonomous DB
  • Microsoft SQL Server → RDS SQL Server
  • MongoDB → DocumentDB or MongoDB Atlas on AWS
  • File storage (NAS, SAN) → S3 / OCI Object Storage / FSx
  • Data warehouses → Redshift, Athena, OCI ADW

FAQ

Common questions about cloud migration

How do you handle downtime during migration?
We minimise downtime through: (1) parallel-run periods where both on-premise and cloud systems run simultaneously, (2) database replication to keep cloud DB in sync until cutover, and (3) short cutover windows (typically 2–4 hours overnight) with pre-tested rollback procedures. For truly zero-downtime migrations, we use AWS DMS for continuous database replication until DNS cutover.
What is the typical cost of a cloud migration project?
Costs depend on scope and complexity. A typical 10–20 server migration project with 2–3 databases costs ₹15–40 Lakhs for migration services (excluding cloud infrastructure costs). Large enterprise migrations (100+ servers) are scoped individually. We always produce a detailed cost estimate after the assessment phase.
How do you ensure data integrity during migration?
We use checksums and row counts to verify data completeness at each migration step. Databases are validated with automated comparison scripts before cutover. Application testing (smoke tests, regression tests) is completed in the cloud environment before the production cutover go/no-go decision.
Do you handle regulatory compliance during migration?
Yes. For regulated industries (healthcare, banking, pharma, government), we build compliance into the migration architecture from the start — data residency in the correct cloud region, encryption in transit and at rest, access control, and audit logging configured before migration. We provide a compliance evidence package post-migration.
